Description
The Luftwaffe JaboG 36 'Westfalia' was renamed to JG 72 'Westfalia' in 1991. The foreground of this aviation art print by Friedl Wuelfing shows a Messerschmitt Me 109 of former JG 27, for which the Fighter Wing took over the sponsorship in 1985. The background shows two F-4F Phantoms, which were base at Rheine/Hopsten airbase from 1974 until the Wing's dissolution in 2002.
