Description
The Aviation art print Flame-out over Mildenhall by Ronald Wong shows a Lockheed SR-71 'Black Bird' spectacularly flaming out during an air display pass at the RAF Mildenhall Air Fete in 1986. After several alarming detonations from the automatic engine restart the plane continued on its course and finished its display without harm. The design was obviously not well suited to low-speed flypasts.
