Description
Face to Face’ is a beautiful limited edition print by Wildlife Artist John Seerey-Lester, who said this about his painting: "There is something unnerving about looking into the eyes of a primate; they exude a quiet intelligence which is both intriguing and menacing. I didn't want the viewer of Face to Face to feel threatened by this gorilla; I wanted to convey its strength, its gentle power, as that is how I always think of the gorilla. The background of this painting is dark, to add drama and to allow no distraction from the gorilla's eyes. I painted the eyes of this gorilla so as to remain firmly fixed on the viewer, regardless of where the painting is viewed, to give one the sensation of being followed. I am particularly pleased that this image is on the front cover of my book, Face to Face With Nature, as little can compare with the immense presence of a gorilla's stare."

Face to Face © 1991 by John Seerey-Lester was reproduced by Mill Pond Press, Inc in 1991 from an original oil on masonite painting created in 1991. The edition was printed on an offset lithographic press at Litho-Krome® Company on all-rag, acid-free pH neutral, coated paper.
