Slowing the Red Tide - Artists Special Reserve Edition
Nicolas Trudgian's amazingly detailed painting shows Fw190's of Stab JG51 providing support to armour breaking out of the besieged 'Festung Königsberg' in East Prussia, February 1945. They are being engaged by Yak 3's of the famed 'Normandie - Niemen' Group, but the determined action of the Wehrmacht subsequently opened a life-saving corridor to the Baltic and was one of their last significant tactical victories on the Eastern Front. 'Slowing the Red Tide' is a brilliant depiction of the Eastern Front, signed by up to 26 bearers of the prestigious Knights Cross! Some editions include RARE and UNREPEATABLE signatures collected between 1994 and 1998, and 10 prints even have wartime clipped signatures of Erich Hartmann and Gerhard Barkhorn.
