Clay Regazzoni was the outstanding driver at Long Beach on the occasion of the United States Grand Prix West; achieving fastest time in practice and leading the race from start to finish. The scene shows Regazzoni in the Ferrari 312T during the early laps of the race, leading Depaillers ' Tyrrell and Ferrari team mate Niki Lauda who was eventu- ally to finish in second place.
