Description
George Follmer won the 1972 Can Am Championship driving a Porsche 917/10K for team owner Roger Penske. After an early accident to Mark Donohue, Follmer took up the challenge to win the prestigious title with five victories, thereby bringing McLaren domination to an end. The image shows the final victory of the year at Riverside with George leading Hulme's M20. October 29th 1972.
