Enemy at the Gate

This aviation art print by Mark Postlethwaite depicts Yakovlev Yak 1 of 11th Fighter Regiment Russian Air Force attacking a german supply column within sight of Moscow, December 1941. With the rare signature of Lt Gen Stepan Mikoyan, Hero of the Soviet Union, who signed these prints in Moscow. After his wartime career, he became one of the Soviet Uniion's most illustrious test pilots, testing many of his family's classic MiG jet fighter designs.
