Description
This motorsport art print by Hessel Bes depicts the Mercedes 300 SL of Karl Kling and Hans Klenk at the Carrera Panamericana 1952. In the early stages of the race a vulture struck the windsceen at approximately 200 km/h and the shards of glas injured Hans Klenk in his face. Therefore the windscreen was replaced and eight vertical metal bars were mounted for protection during the next tyre change.
