Fw-190A-4s of JG 54 ‘Grünherz’
Commemorating one of the most successful Luftwaffe fighter units, the JG54 'Green Heart Warriors', Nicolas Trudgian has painted JG54 Fw190A-4s in February 1943 taxiing out on their snow-blanketed airfield in Krasnogvardeisk, Russia. During the long, harsh winter the aircraft were camouflaged in the livery considered to be one of the most attractive of all Luftwaffe paint schemes - overall white with the distinctive yellow theatre markings. By the end of the war the Geschwader had claimed over 9,500 victories and produced over 100 aces, one of whom, Major Erich Rudorffer, has graciously signed these Remarque and Main Edition aviation art prints.
