Domenic DeNardo - short biography of the artist

Domenic DeNardo grew up in Providence, Rhode Island and has been fascinated with airplanes since childhood. During the Second World War II, he was obsessed with drawing the war planes that took off from nearby airfields, F4U Corsairs, P-47 Thunderbolts, etc.
His interest became an active hobby when he earned his private pilot's license 13 years later and shortly thereafter purchased the first of five aircraft. DeNardo received his formal art education at the Rode Island School of Design. He also studied mechanical engineering at the University of Rhode Island. His illustrations have been featured in numerous publications such as Aviation Week & Space Technology, Time, Wall Street Journal, etc. In 1995, he flew his Beechcraft A-36 to Oskosh in a formation of 132 Beechcraft aircraft.
